The Ministry of Defense of Latvia has ordered Patria 6×6 armored personnel carriers for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

This was reported by Delfi, according to Kommersant Ukrainian .

“The Latvian-made armored personnel carriers will be handed over to Ukrainian defenders at the end of this year. We will not only support Ukraine in the fight against the invaders, but also test the use and durability of armored vehicles in real combat conditions, which will allow the National Armed Forces to draw useful conclusions,” said Defense Minister Andris Spruds.

The report says that the supply of armored vehicles to Ukraine will not affect the volume and timing of the previously placed order for the Latvian army.

According to the Ministry of Defense, as part of the intergovernmental cooperation program between Finland, Latvia, Sweden and Germany, Riga signed a joint agreement on August 30, 2021, for the purchase of Patria 6×6 armored personnel carriers, including orders for more than 200 armored vehicles.
