Fuel prices have fluctuated: what has gone down and what has gone up

27 May 20:08

Last week, prices for gasoline and diesel remained almost unchanged, while the cost of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) fell due to cheap imports. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to Enkorr, an online portal that covers the Ukrainian fuel market.

The wholesale price of gas fell by UAH 1,310/t, which allowed premium chains such as OKKO, WOG, UPG, SOCAR and others to reduce retail prices by an average of 50 kopecks/liter. Avantazh 7 has the cheapest gas at 32.65 UAH/l.

The retail price decreased slowly, as operators kept part of the reduction in price in the margin – the spread between wholesale and retail for LPG reached 6.41 UAH/l. At the same time, sales remained stable.

Oil products remained stable, with only KLO and Ukr-Petrol reducing prices by 1-2.5 UAH/l. Some operators even raised prices. The spread on gasoline is 7.49 UAH/l, and on diesel is almost 10 UAH/l. Gas and diesel prices are expected to decline further due to promotions and market dynamics.

How much fuel will cost in June 2025

The June 2025 forecast for fuel prices in Ukraine remains uncertain due to a number of factors that may affect the market. However, analyzing current trends and forecasts, we can outline several possible scenarios.

Potential price decline

The U.S. Department of Energy predicts a decline in the price of Brent crude oil to $61.5 per barrel, which may help reduce fuel prices in Ukraine. In addition, high competition in the market may encourage operators to reduce prices to attract customers.

Prices may rise

This may be facilitated by an increase in excise taxes on fuel, which could lead to higher retail prices. In addition, changes in the hryvnia/dollar exchange rate may affect the cost of imported fuel.

Expected prices

A-95 gasoline. Possible decrease by 1.5-2.5 UAH/l, which will lead to an average price of about 50 UAH/l.

Diesel fuel. It is expected to decrease by 1.5-2.5 UAH/l, to the level of about 50 UAH/l.

Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). Prices may decrease by 15-20 kopecks/liter, depending on the region and competition.
