Recruitment centers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine report an increase in the number of people willing to join the army, – Serhiy Melnyk

Last week, 1,319 people applied to Ukrainian army recruitment centers to enlist in the military. This figure is almost twice as high as the previous week. During the first week of the year, 717 Ukrainians applied to recruiting centers. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense, Komersant ukrainskyi 
reports.
In total, 34,055 Ukrainians have received consultations on enlistment since the centers began operating. Of these, 7,550 have already become candidates for the Defense Forces.
“Such an increase in interest in recruitment demonstrates the high awareness and readiness of our citizens to defend the country. Each application is not just a number, but a real person who shows a real interest in serving in the army,” said Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Brigadier General of Justice Serhiy Melnyk.
Today, there are 47 recruiting centers of the Ukrainian army in Ukraine. Residents of the following cities are the most active:
- Dnipropetrovs’k, Kharkiv
- Kharkiv, and
- Lviv, and
- Zaporizhzhia regions and
- and the city of Kyiv.
The recruiting centers offer more than 10,000 vacancies in various military formations, including the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard, the State Border Guard Service and the Security Service of Ukraine, the Defense Ministry added.
The Ukrainian army recruiting centers do not issue summonses, and all consultations are provided in a confidential manner .
