Three fraudsters defrauded Ukrainians of UAH 45 million by “supplying” drones to the Armed Forces. This was reported by the National Police and the Office of the Prosecutor General, reports

According to the investigation, the “scheme” was extremely simple. They offered military personnel, volunteers and other citizens drones for sale at 20-30% cheaper than the market price. The only condition was that they had to transfer money in advance. The vast majority of their customers simply did not receive the goods for which they had paid.

The organisers of the fraud were two women who had previously “warmed up” to Ukrainians. During the blackout, they “sold” 40 non-existent Starliners, and during the fuel crisis, they sold invalid fuel vouchers.

This time, they sold but did not deliver more than 600 drones of various types to the Armed Forces of Ukraine for a total of UAH 45 million.

The organisers and their accomplice were served a notice of suspicion under Part 3, 4, 5 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code (fraud on a large scale). The main organiser is hiding abroad, and the police are currently planning to put her on the international wanted list. Two other participants in the scheme were detained. They face up to 12 years in prison.

The police seized only UAH 28.6 million in their accounts and property worth UAH 4.5 million.
