After the incident, Trump ordered the desk to be removed from the office for repair.
The Resolute Desk was temporarily replaced with the C&O desk, one of six that the current president has at his disposal.

“The C&O is also very well known and was used by President George H.W. Bush and others. It has been temporarily installed in the White House while the previous one is being refinished. It’s a great, but temporary replacement,” the media quoted Trump as saying.

The Resolute Desk is a large, luxurious desk located in the Oval Office of the White House. It is made of oak and its history dates back to the 1880s.

The desk was presented by Queen Victoria to American President Rutherford B. Hayes after his ship, the Resolute, was rescued from the Arctic ice by British ships.

It has become a symbol of U.S.-British relations and has been used by all U.S. presidents since Hayes.

The table has a characteristic design with carved details and heavy wooden surfaces.
