On 9 August, the Cabinet of Ministers appointed Yuriy Sheik as First Deputy Energy Minister. This was announced by the government’s representative in the Verkhovna Rada, Taras Melnychuk, Komersant ukrainskyi reports
“Yuriy Sheik has been appointed First Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine,” Melnychuk wrote.
It should be noted that Yuriy Sheiko is the acting first vice president and technical director, acting member of the board of Energoatom.
What is known about Yuriy Sheiko
Yuriy Sheiko was born in Kryvyi Rih, Dnipro region.
In 1985, he graduated from the Odesa Polytechnic Institute with a degree in Nuclear Power Plants and Installations.
From 1985 to 2008, Sheiko worked at Zaporizhzhya NPP, where he rose from a reactor department operator to chief power unit specialist and power unit manager.
From 2008 to 2018, he held various positions in the Executive Directorate for Production at NNEGC Energoatom.
In 2018-2020, he was the Director General of Atomproektengineering of NNEGC Energoatom.
He is an Excellence in Nuclear Energy of Ukraine and an honorary worker of the nuclear energy industry of Ukraine.
