Former WBC world champion Tyson Fury has announced his retirement. He made the announcement in a video message he recorded for Instagram.
“Hello, everyone! I’ll make this short. I would like to announce my retirement from boxing. It’s been a blast. I loved every minute of it and I’m going to call it a day. May God bless everyone! See you on the other side!” – fury said.
It is worth noting that Fury has repeatedly announced his retirement. In 2016, he did so almost a year after defeating Wladimir Klitschko and testing positive for cocaine. And in August 2022, the boxer made a similar statement after defeating his compatriot Dillian Whyte. After that, the boxer returned and fought four more fights: he defended the WBC championship twice and lost twice to Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk.
In total, 36-year-old Tyson Fury has 37 fights in the professional ring – 34 wins, 2 losses and 1 draw.
