The situation at the front is escalating: expert analysis by area

for many people, the “peace” talks between the US and Russia have pushed what is happening at the front into the background. Meanwhile, the enemy has become much more active on the battlefield, military expert Dmitry Snegirev tells Komersant ukrainskyi exclusively. He explained what is happening in the combat areas.

“The situation is already escalating at the front. The announced offensive [by the Russians] for May is already practically underway. Pressure is being exerted in all areas of the frontline,”

– says the expert.

Liman direction

Here, according to the expert, there is a sharp aggravation due to the deployment of the occupying power’s operational reserves, including the transfer of reserves from the Kursk direction.

“The offensive is being conducted in several directions simultaneously. The Borova area and, accordingly, the possibility of access to the Lyman, the threat of operational encirclement in the Siversk area. The Russians’ strategic objective is to reach Sloviansk and the Kramatorsk agglomeration,”

– snegiryov said.

According to him, units of the 20th and 25th Combined Arms Armies of the Russian Federation are operating in this area. Additional units of the 3rd and 144th motorized rifle divisions have been deployed.

Toretsk direction

The Russians have sharply intensified their activity here by deploying operational reserves from the 8th Combined Arms Army. The situation is very difficult.

Zaporizhzhia direction

The Russians have also sharply intensified their activity by redeploying operational reserves from the Kursk direction, in particular the 7th Airborne Division.

“They are rushing to Mali Shcherbaky with access to Orikhiv, which is 4 to 6 kilometers away, according to various estimates.”

Pokrovske direction

According to the expert, the situation in this area is the most stable and has the character of counterattacks.

“…the situation is difficult near Shevchenko. At the moment, we have recaptured the previously lost positions, but there are constant attacks. On the other flank of the Pokrovsk direction, near Pishchane, we are counterattacking. Accordingly, they are trying to hold the situation by deploying operational reserves. But the most difficult area is Konstantinople. Rozlyv is almost completely under Russian control there, and there is a threat of reaching the administrative borders with Dnipropetrovska oblast,”

– said Snegirev.

Thus, according to the military expert, the situation is characterized by a sharp escalation and an increase in the number of combat clashes on the front line.
