The weather is expected to change dramatically in Ukraine today, 16 October. Frosts down to -3 degrees are forecast in the west, rains in the south, and cold weather with occasional precipitation in Kyiv. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to the State Emergency Service.

The State Emergency Service warns of an orange level of danger due to frosts that will cover most regions of Ukraine starting from 17 October.

“Take out your down jackets and scarves, because starting today and over the next three days, severe frosts of 0-5° (danger level II, orange) are expected almost all over Ukraine,” the statement said.

The coldest weather is expected to be in Vinnytsia, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Poltava and Dnipro regions, as well as in the northern and western regions.

Rescuers also recommend paying particular attention to the weather in mountainous areas.

Weather forecaster Natalia Didenko said that October will prove to be one of the most moody months of the year.

In the western regions, frosts of 0-3 degrees are expected at night, while during the day the temperature will range from 9 to 12 degrees, and in Transcarpathia – up to 16 degrees. In the north, intermittent rains are forecast, and the temperature will be 8 to 11 degrees.

Rains are also possible in the central regions, with daytime temperatures ranging from 9 to 13 degrees. The eastern regions will see rain, but the temperature will be warmer – from 11 to 14 degrees. In the south, we should expect rains, sometimes heavy, with temperatures between 11 and 16 degrees.

In Kyiv, however, cloudy, humid weather is expected, with temperatures of 3-4 degrees at night and around 10 degrees during the day. Didenko advises to insulate yourself, as it will be cold in homes without heating.
