The Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Kyiv ordered the State Bureau of Investigation to enter information about a criminal offence into the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations and to launch a pre-trial investigation into the activities of Volodymyr Kudrytskyi, the head of NPC Ukrenergo, as reported by Komersant ukrainskyi
Thus, in a request to the State Bureau of Investigation, Komersant ukrainskyi asked whether the decision of the Shevchenkivskyi District Court had been implemented? Has criminal proceedings been opened? When exactly? And under what articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine?
The SBI replied that such a request requires “creation of new information”, which, they say, is not provided for by the Law of Ukraine “On Access to Public Information”.
“We would like to inform you that the central office of the SBI does not have the requested information, and therefore it is not possible to provide it,” the Bureau added.
As a reminder, the Shevchenkivskyi District Court previously ordered “an official (investigator) of the State Bureau of Investigation to immediately, but no later than 24 hours after the pre-trial investigation body receives a copy of the investigating judge’s decision, enter into the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations the information about the commission of a criminal offence set out in the statement of Prikhodko N.K. dated 29 July 2024, and to initiate a pre-trial investigation”.
As Komersant ukrainskyi reported, on 2 August 2024, the NABU announced the initiation of criminal proceedings against Volodymyr Kudrytskyi based on a ruling of the High Anti-Corruption Court.
Volodymyr Kudrytskyi himself stated that the case, which the HACC ordered NABU to open on 17 July, concerns the purchase of bulletproof vests by the state-owned company, and he considers it “an attempt to create an information pretext and a throw-in”.
