Russian court nationalises Poroshenko’s factory in Lipetsk

According to the court, the shares of Lipetsk Confectionery Factory Roshen JSC will be transferred to the Russian budget.

“According to the court’s decision, the income of the Russian Federation should include the shares of Lipetsk Confectionery Factory Roshen JSC and 94.9976% of the shares in the authorised capital of Roshen LLC owned by the Central European Confectionery Company, 5% of the shares in the authorised capital of Roshen LLC owned by Oleg Kazakov,” the statement said,

It is reported that shares of JSC Lipetsk Confectionery Factory Roshen in the amount of 128,970,771 were seized.

the Russian court also banned Petro Poroshenko, his son Alexei and the factory’s CEO Oleg Kazakov from any activity in Russia.

Roshen Corporation did not comment on the decision of the Russian court.

What is known about the Lipetsk Roshen factory

Petro Poroshenko owned the business in Russia until 2014, but after the start of the aggression, Russia arrested the factory and did not allow it to be sold.

As previously reported by the President of Roshen Corporation, Vyacheslav Moskalevsky, on 19 March 2014, the operation of the factory in Lipetsk was suspended due to the seizure of the company’s funds and searches of its office and production facilities. After that, all the property was seized by the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.

According to Moskalevs’kyi, the company managed to export some of the equipment, and some of it was cut into scrap to prevent it from falling into the hands of the enemy.

The company was shut down in 2017, but just before it was closed, it managed to withdraw $72 million in dividends.

Roshen is one of the largest Ukrainian confectionery producers. The holding includes Kyiv, Kremenchuk and two Vinnytsia confectionery factories, as well as the Bershadmoloko butter and dairy plant, Litynsky breeding farm (both in Vinnytsia region), Klaipeda confectionery factory (Lithuania) and BonbonettiChoco factory (Hungary).
