President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has held a meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief’s Staff. The head of state said this in an evening video address, Komersant ukrainskyi reports
“There were a lot of military affairs today. I held a meeting of the Chief of Staff. The key issue is to equip our brigades and provide them with everything they need,” the president said.
Zelenskyy also said that he had spoken separately with Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Sirskyi and Chief of the General Staff Andriy Hnatov.
“I also spoke separately with the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, the Chief of the General Staff, and the Chief of the General Staff. We are preparing our proposals for partner contingents that could become part of the new security architecture. In fact, this is one of the security guarantees for Ukraine,” the Ukrainian leader added.
Zelenskyy said that the main guarantee of the country’s security is the Defense and Security Forces, their motivation, equipment and the necessary military potential. This is what the entire security architecture of the state is based on.
Zelenskyy emphasized that the strong Armed Forces of Ukraine are the primary factor in deterring the aggressor. This foundation is the basis for the further security system, including the support of international partners.
International military meeting on contingents
A meeting of military representatives of partner countries will take place on Friday. The main topic of the talks is a common approach to the deployment of contingents.
Ukraine has prepared its proposals, and it is necessary to develop a unified strategy for the whole of Europe.
“We will work on the prepared proposals of the Ukrainian side, and we need a common approach for everyone in Europe, and therefore common solutions,” Zelenskyy said.
