The case against Biden: Ex-Prosecutor General Shokin asks Khomenko to resume investigation
11 February 20:29
Former Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin is asking Acting Prosecutor General Oleksiy Khomenko to cancel the decision of the Pechersk Police Department in Kyiv to close the criminal proceedings regarding former US President Joe Biden’s possible interference in the work of the former Prosecutor General.
This is stated in a copy of a letter addressed to the acting Prosecutor General, the text of which is at the disposal of Ukrainian News, Komersant ukrainskyi reports.
In the letter, Shokin emphasizes that as a result of psychological pressure on him by Biden to resign from the post of Prosecutor General, through blackmail in the issue of providing Ukraine with US state financial guarantees in the amount of $ 1 billion, he resigned from the post of Prosecutor General.
The former Prosecutor General believes that the reason for this was the investigation by the Prosecutor General’s Office into the case of former Minister of Ecology Mykola Zlochevsky and the Burisma company, co-founded by Biden’s son Hunter.
Shokin assured that the case of Biden’s interference in his activities was closed illegally and should be reopened.
In the letter, Shokin also notes that at his request in 2020, the State Bureau of Investigation opened a criminal investigation into Biden’s possible influence and interference in the activities of the then Prosecutor General, which forced him to resign.
The ex-prosecutor general points out that the case was initially investigated by the SBI, but was later transferred to the police and closed.
In a complaint to the acting Prosecutor General, Shokin said that only two investigative actions were conducted in the case: interrogation of him as a victim and inspection of the Internet resource.
At the same time, the interrogation of the victim took place only 7 months after the start of the investigation.
He asks the Prosecutor General’s Office to cancel the decision to close the case and send the materials back to the SBI for further investigation.
Shokin believes that Biden’s actions have signs of a criminal offense under Article 343 of the Criminal Code.

As a reminder, the Verkhovna Rada supported the resignation of Viktor Shokin in March 2016.
In February 2018, the State Bureau of Investigation opened a case regarding Biden’s possible pressure on Shokin.
Shokin claimed that he had suffered two cardiac arrests due to mercury poisoning. He suggests that Joe Biden may be involved in his poisoning.
In 2019, the Administrative Chamber of Cassation of the Supreme Court refused to reinstate former Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin as Prosecutor General.
on February 27, 2020, the State Bureau of Investigation registered a criminal proceeding on the pressure exerted on former Viktor Shokin by Joseph Biden.
The criminal proceedings against Joseph Biden at the request of Viktor Shokin were closed by the National Police of Ukraine on September 23, 2020.
The son of former U.S. President Joe Biden was accused of illegally receiving funds from Burisma Holdings, a company owned by Yanukovych’s Minister of Ecology Mykola Zlochevsky.
In 2014, a criminal case was opened against Zlochevsky. At the same time, the American press began to talk about Biden Sr. putting pressure on the Ukrainian authorities to close the case and dismiss former Prosecutor General Shokin, who was investigating Biden Jr.’s activities at Burisma.
According to Joe Biden, he demanded that Kyiv investigate the case, and Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin allegedly slowed down the investigation. In 2018, at a public speech, Joe Biden told how in 2016 he demanded that Shokin be fired, otherwise Ukraine would not receive financial assistance from the United States.
Instead, Shokin claims that Biden demanded his dismissal precisely because the Prosecutor General’s Office was investigating the case.
