13 November 08:49

Due to a deficit in the power system in the Carpathian region, power curtailment schedules will be introduced on November 13. This was reported by Prykarpattyaoblenergo, Komersant ukrainskyi reports.

Power curtailment schedules are documents that contain a list of large consumers in the region and the capacity to which these companies must reduce their consumption. Reportedly, such schedules will be introduced for the enterprises of Ivano-Frankivsk region on November 13, in the amount of 5 stages.

According to Ukrenergo’s instructions, the schedules will be introduced from 07:00 to 20:00. The reason for their introduction is a shortage of power in the Ukrainian power system due to damage to critical infrastructure caused by Russian shelling and a drop in temperature.

Prykarpattyaoblenergo reported that companies will be informed about the need to save energy on an individual basis. The responsibility for non-compliance with the established regimes lies with the heads of the enterprises.

According to EP sources, similar restrictions will be introduced in other regions of the country.

What Ukrenergo reported the day before

The company’s report emphasized that consumption was showing an upward trend.

on November 12, as of 6:30 a.m., its level was 4% higher than at the same time the previous day.

on November 11, the daily maximum consumption was recorded in the evening. It was 5.1% higher than on the previous business day, November 8.

Ukrenergo reminded that the Ukrainian power system continues to recover from nine massive Russian attacks. Emergency and scheduled repairs are underway at power facilities. During the peak consumption hours in the morning and evening, the power grid remains in a significant power deficit.

Ukrainians were urged to consume electricity sparingly throughout the day.

As explained by the Energoreforma information and analytical portal, in case of a power shortage, all domestic resources, electricity imports, emergency assistance from neighboring countries are used to balance the power system, and when these measures are exhausted, power reduction schedules for industry and then hourly power outage schedules for the population are used.
