“Caesar Kunikov: what Ukraine has destroyed
14 February 18:22
The Main Intelligence Directorate used Ukrainian-made Magura V5 drones to sink the Russian large amphibious assault ship Caesar Kunikov. has gathered all that is known about the incident and the ship as of the evening of 14 February.
This is how the destruction of the ship looked like. After that, the GUR intercepted the occupiers’ conversations about the fact that only an “oily stain” remained of the Caesar Kunikov.
Andriy Yusov, a representative of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, said that most of the crew was killed.
“There are no specific figures yet, but according to the available information, most of the crew was killed,”
– he told Nv.ua.
At the same time, according to the BBC, their interlocutor among the retired sailors of the ship claims that the crew survived.
Russian Telegram channels have hardly commented on the incident. The few messages that are available confirm the damage, but do not confirm the destruction or sinking. The Russians also write that the crew is alive.
There is no reason to distrust the report of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine.
“Cesar Kunikov

“The Caesar Kunikov was a large amphibious assault ship of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, built in Gdansk, Poland, and commissioned in 1986. It had a gross displacement of 4,080 tonnes, a length of 112.5 metres and a beam of 15 metres. The ship’s crew consisted of 87 people.
“The Caesar Kunikov took part in hostilities during the Russian wars against Georgia and Ukraine, as well as in Syria. In the spring of 2022, it was damaged by Ukrainian missiles and took a long time to repair. Recently, after Ukraine was able to expel Russian ships from the western part of the Black Sea, it has been performing mainly transport and logistics functions.
