Marta Kostiuk will play in the quarterfinals of the WTA 1000 in Doha today

Ukraine’s top-ranked tennis player Marta Kostiuk (WTA No. 21) continues to perform well at the WTA 1000 tournament in Doha, Qatar, reaching the quarterfinals, Komersant ukrainskyi reports.
In the third round, the Ukrainian confidently defeated Polish tennis player Magda Lynette (WTA No. 36). The match lasted 1 hour and 41 minutes and ended with a score of 6:4, 6:2 in favor of Kostiuk.
In this match, Marta demonstrated a strong level of play, hitting three aces, six double faults and converting six of 16 break points.
This was the second meeting between Kostiuk and Lynette. The Ukrainian also won the first match between them, which took place in September 2023 in San Diego.
It is worth noting that the tournament in Doha began for Marta with a convincing victory over Zeynep Sonmez from Turkey (6:3, 6:3). Then, in the second round, she sensationally defeated the third world number three, American Cori Hauff, with a score of 6:2, 7:5.

In the quarterfinals, Kostiuk will meet the winner of the match between American Amanda Anisimova (WTA No. 41) and Canadian Leila Fernandez (WTA No. 27).
