How much money was spent on salaries of Supreme Court judges: the figure was announced

The salaries of the Supreme Court judges cost almost 700 million hryvnias. This was reported by Komersant ukrainskyi with reference to data from Slidstvo.Info.
The journalists received a written response to a request from the Supreme Court, from which they learned that the amount of salaries paid to judges in 2024 was UAH 685,516,300, including bonuses, which cost UAH 216,437,100.
In addition, the Supreme Court plans to pay UAH 22,425,800 for bonuses in 2025.
In addition, in 2024, the High Council of Justice dismissed five judges of the Supreme Court (retained by the state for life).
The Supreme Court is the highest court in the Ukrainian judicial system. In January 2024, a total of 1144 court employees were paid salaries. Traditionally, the highest salary is paid to the management – an average of UAH 145 thousand. This salary was paid to 6 people. That is, almost UAH 900 thousand was spent on salaries of the management per month.
The management of structural units (125 people) received more than UAH 60 thousand, and 303 employees of the patronage service received UAH 43.2 thousand per person. The Supreme Court employs the largest number of professional level specialists: in January, 696 specialists received an average salary of UAH 34.4 thousand. The lowest average salary in January was for service workers, which amounted to almost UAH 20 thousand.
Despite the high salaries of the management, last year a scandal broke out in the Supreme Court: the then Chief Justice Vsevolod Kniazev received a bribe of almost $3 million. Despite the seizure of all his accounts, Knyazev was granted bail and has been released from jail.
