The scandal of the “slap” Macron: the Elysee Palace’s reaction to the video
26 May 15:00
During the French President’s official visit to Vietnam, a curious moment on the airplane ramp was captured by journalists and caused a wave of discussion. The video shows Emmanuel Macron’s wife, Brigitte, allegedly pushing him in the face. However, the Elysee Palace has already given an official comment, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
What happened on board the plane
The incident occurred when the French president was getting off the plane in Hanoi. As the video shows, the plane’s door opens and French President Emmanuel Macron is talking to someone behind the scenes. At this point, hands appear in the frame, touching or pushing him in the lower part of his face. The president instantly composes himself and begins to greet the journalists who met the delegation.

A few seconds later, the first lady of France, Brigitte Macron, in a red jacket, gets off the plane. It was her hands that were in the frame, which suggests that the contact with the president was on her part. Macron gives her a hand to support her on the ramp, but Brigitte does not respond to the gesture.

Media reaction and fake interpretations
This brief moment was immediately picked up by the Russian media, which characterized the event as a “family quarrel” and even “Brigitte Macron’s attack on her husband.”
However, official France was quick to respond to the speculation.
Comment from the Elysee Palace: “There was no violence”
In a commentary to the French newspaper Libération, representatives of the Elysee Palace denied any use of force by the First Lady.
“It was the moment when the president and his wife were having their last rest before the trip, making a fuss. It was a moment of complicity,” the French presidential administration said.
The statement also emphasized that such allegations by the Russian media are fake and have a purely propagandistic nature.
