Szijjártó calls to “return all rights” to Hungarians in Zakarpattia

Before sitting down to negotiate, the delegation visited the monument to the fallen defenders of Ukraine and their graves. In this regard, the Hungarian minister wrote that “the war must end, human lives can only be saved by peace.”
Already during the publication of the photo from behind the negotiating table, Szijjarto wrote on Facebook about the need to “return rights” to Ukrainian Hungarians.
“We can clearly say what we want: to return to Hungarians the rights they had in Ukraine before 2015. This is the basis of everything,”

The meeting between the two ministers is preparatory to the meeting between President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban. Hungary is the only EU country that is blocking the adoption of the EU mechanism for allocating a €50 billion aid package to Ukraine. It is also blocking most of the actions related to Ukraine’s accession to the EU.
