AI names the next Pope
23 April 18:37
After the death of Pope Francis, the Catholic Church is preparing for one of the most mysterious processes in the world – the election of a new head of the Roman Catholic Church. Formally, the conclave procedure will begin no earlier than 15 days after the death of the pontiff. The voting will be attended by 135 cardinals who will remain isolated until the decision is made.
This was reported by UNIAN, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
According to OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Cardinal Pietro Parolin , the Vatican’s Secretary of State, who is considered a natural successor to Francis, has the best chances , the Daily Mail reports .
AI estimates his chances of winning at 37%, citing Polymarket and Newsweek forecasts.
In second place is 67-year-old Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle of the Philippines, who has 32% support. He is called the “Asian Francis” and is considered one of Pope Francis’ favorites.
Other likely contenders for the Holy See:
- Cardinal Peter Tarkson of Ghana – has a chance to become the first black pope;
- Cardinal Peter Erdo from Hungary, a conservative archbishop who has influence among traditionalists.
Artificial intelligence emphasizes that the process of electing a new pope is extremely difficult to predict, and the gap between the leaders is minimal.
The candidate who can become a compromise between reformers and supporters of the conservative wing will probably win.
As a reminder, Pope Francis died in the Vatican on April 21. He was 88 years old at the time of his death.
