What awaits curfew violators on New Year’s Eve

Those who violate the curfew on New Year’s Eve will be detained and taken to the police station. This was announced by the head of the National Police’s Preventive Activities Department , Maksym Akhrameyev, during a national telethon on Tuesday, December 31, Komersant ukrainskyi reports.

“All units will respond to people who are on the streets during the curfew. Violators will be detained and taken to the police station for questioning,” Akhrameyev said.

He clarified that the police would be sympathetic to people who found themselves on the street during the curfew for valid reasons. For example, if it was an emergency or a person was forced to go to the hospital.

Note that the law does not provide for liability for curfew violations.

New Year’s curfew in the regions of Ukraine

• Lviv region – 00:00 – 5:00;
• Odesa region – 00:00 – 5:00;
• Dnipropetrovska oblast – 00:00 – 5:00 (in Nikopol district the curfew is from 23:00 to 4:00, in Synelnykove – from 22:00 to 5:00);
• Donetsk region – 21:00 – 5:00;
• Ivano-Frankivsk region – 00:00 – 5:00;
• Kharkiv region – 23:00 – 5:00;
• Kherson region – 20:00 – 6:00;
• Khmelnytsky region – 00:00 – 5:00.
• Kirovohrad region – 00:00 – 4:00;
• Luhansk region – 21:00 – 5:00;
• Mykolaiv region – 00:00 – 5:00 (in Ochakiv city territorial community – from 23:00 to 5:00);
• Poltava region – 00:00 – 4:00;
• Rivne region – 00:00 – 5:00;
• Sumy region – 23:00 – 5:00;
• Ternopil region – 00:00 – 5:00;
• Vinnytsia region – 00:00 – 5:00;
• Volyn region – 00:00 – 5:00;
• Zaporizhzhia region – 21:00 – 5:00 (in Zaporizhzhia and Zaporizhzhia region – from 23:00 to 5:00);
• Zhytomyr region – 00:00 – 5:00
• Cherkasy region – 00:00 – 4:00;
• Chernihiv region – 00:00 – 4:00;
• Chernivtsi region – 00:00 – 4:00.

Only Zakarpattia region, the only one in Ukraine, will not have a curfew. This is the only region where restrictions on the movement of citizens at night are not applied.

In Kyiv and Kyiv region, restrictions will be in effect from 00:00 to 05:00.
