“Shakhtar lose to PSV in the UEFA Champions League

“Shakhtar took the lead at the start of the first half: in the eighth minute of the match, Yukhym Konoplya passed into the penalty area, and Danylo Sikan scored in the bottom left corner of the goal to open the scoring.
“Shakhtar had more chances, including Kryskiv’s shot near the post, and Zubkov’s missed header from Konoplya. The Dutch responded with two shots by de Jong on target, which were pulled away by Riznyk, while Sikan headed into the goalkeeper’s hands. Later, PSV had several chances, but Riznyk coped with shots from Lang, Saibari and Bakayoko.
Nevertheless, the Orange and Blacks scored a second time. In the 37th minute, Konoplya intercepted the ball in the other half and passed it to Zubkov, who put it into the far corner. Toward the end of the half, Matvienko threatened the opponents’ goal twice after Matvienko’s corners, but the Pitmen’s captain failed to score.
At the start of the second half, PSV’s attacks were unsuccessful. Instead, Pedro Henrique almost increased the visitors’ lead with a free kick. A moment later, Konoplya scored with a ricochet near the post. The Dutch responded with a shot on target from Pepi.
With 20 minutes left in regulation time, Shakhtar were left in the minority: Pedrinho was given a red card by the referee for sticking his spikes into the leg of striker Yohan Bakayoko and knocking him down.
In the 87th minute, PSV scored a goal: Malik Tilman scored. Four minutes later, the midfielder restored parity in the match. And in the 90th minute, Ricardo Pepi scored the third goal for the Pitmen.
Shakhtar featured players of the national team who were used by Serhiy Rebrov in the November matches of the League of Nations: Riznyk, Matvienko, Konoplya (two assists), Bondar, Sudakov, Kryskiv (yellow card), Zubkov (goal, substituted in the 66th minute).
