On the night of January 27, Russians attacked Ivano-Frankivsk region with attack drones. Air defense forces were operating in the region. This is reported by Komersant ukrainskyi with reference to the head of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration Svitlana Onyshchuk and the mayor of Ivano-Frankivsk Ruslan Martsinkiv.

According to Onyshchuk, a series of explosions occurred in the Carpathian region last night. The enemy attacked the region several times using attack drones. The Russians targeted critical infrastructure facilities.

As of 08:00, there were no reports of casualties.

However, a fire was detected at one of the strike sites, and the relevant services are working there.

“We thank the air defense forces for their protection. And to everyone who is involved in eliminating the consequences of enemy attacks. Once again, I appeal to the residents of the region not to neglect the air raid alerts and take care of their own safety,” she wrote.

At the same time, Martsinkiv clarified that the Russians were shelling both the Ivano-Frankivsk region and the city itself.

“First of all, I thank our air defense, the guys and girls who are defending us. Thank God, everything went well. The enemy launched a large-scale attack on the region and tried to hit the community. But thanks to the work of air defense, there was no damage to civilian property,” he said.

Martsynkiv emphasized that all services are working. Due to the strike, public transportation in Ivano-Frankivsk will run with a significant delay after the air raid alert is lifted, according to the Electroavtotrans utility company.
