The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved a number of appointments to top government positions. This was announced by the government’s representative in the Verkhovna Rada, Taras Melnychuk, reports Komersant ukrainskyi

oleksandr Porkhun was appointed Deputy Minister of Health of Ukraine;
tkachenko Timur Firuddinovich has been appointed Deputy Minister of Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine;
Sergiy Ivanovych Sukhomlyn has been appointed as the Head of the State Agency for the Restoration and Development of Infrastructure of Ukraine.

Who will rebuild Ukraine
The newly appointed Head of the Recovery Agency, Serhiy Ivanovych Sukhomlyn, was born on 21 June 1971 in Radyvyliv, Rivne region. After graduating from high school, he entered the Kharkiv Higher Tank Command School. Later, he received a second degree in Finance and Credit from the University of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine. Sukhomlyn began his career with military service in Zhytomyr, after which he moved into business, holding senior positions in various companies.
Mr Sukhomlyn’s political career began in 2006 when he was elected to the Zhytomyr City Council as a member of the Nasha Ukraina party. Throughout his political career, he has been a member of various parties, including Front for Change, Batkivshchyna, Solidarnist and Propozytsiya. In 2014, Sukhomlyn became the First Deputy Mayor of Zhytomyr, and in November 2015, he was elected to the post of Mayor of Zhytomyr, a position he held until 19 September 2024.
He has received numerous state awards. In 2017, he received the Order of Danylo Halytskyi, and in 2021 – the Order of Merit III class. Sukhomlyn took an active part in the Euromaidan events of 2013-2014. He is married and has three children with his wife Svitlana: son Andriy and daughters Yulia and Sofia.
He has not been involved in any major political or corruption scandals.
