SBU takes security measures in government quarter: checks documents and cars
18 December 12:54The Security Service of Ukraine is carrying out planned counterintelligence and security measures in the Pechersk district of Kyiv, including the government quarter. This was reported by the SBU, Komersant ukrainskyi reports.
“The purpose is to check the counter-sabotage protection of state facilities, as well as to strengthen the security of residents of the capital and persons subject to state protection. Security measures are being taken in accordance with the legal regime of martial law. During their implementation, it is possible to restrict the passage and travel through the streets of the capital, check the documents of citizens and inspect cars,” the statement said.
During the events, law enforcement officers
- inspect territories and individual premises (residential apartments, offices, common areas in high-rise buildings, public service facilities, etc.) to identify prohibited items;
- check people who are within the government quarter of the capital.
The operation is conducted in cooperation with the State Protection Department of Ukraine, the National Police and the Military Law Enforcement Service of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“The SBU asks citizens to be understanding of possible inconveniences and respond appropriately to lawful actions and demands of law enforcement officers, to have identification documents with them, and to observe the curfew,” the SBU writes.
