China has imposed sanctions on nine US companies in response to the US decision to transfer a new batch of arms to Taiwan. This is stated in a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, according to Komersant ukrainskyi
“The United States has recently announced arms sales to the Chinese region of Taiwan, which seriously violates the one-China principle and the three joint Sino-US communiqués, seriously interferes with China’s internal affairs, and causes serious damage to China’s sovereignty and territorial integrity… China has decided to impose sanctions on nine companies…”
– the Chinese Foreign Ministry said.
The sanctions apply to the following companies:
- Sierra Nevada;
- Stick Rudder;
- Cubic;
- S3 AeroDefence;
- TCOM;
- TextOre;
- Planate Management Group;
- ACT1;
- Exovera.

The sanctions include two measures:
- freezing of movable, immovable and other property of the said companies in China;
- chinese organisations and individuals are prohibited from cooperating with these companies in any way.
The sanctions will take effect on 18 September.
China has previously imposed sanctions on US arms manufacturers over arms sales to Taiwan. In May of this year, Beijing imposed restrictions on 15 US companies, including such defence giants as Boeing Defence and Lockheed Martin, and in July – on 6 more companies.
