Ruslan Shostak is among the TOP-10 most influential businessmen in Ukraine and the TOP-100 most influential Ukrainians according to Ukrainska Pravda
21 November 19:57“Ukrayinska Pravda has presented its second-ever rating of leaders – a hundred Ukrainians who have made the greatest contribution to Ukraine’s independence and future.
This year’s slogan of the ceremony, “Beyond the Possible,” perfectly reflects the challenges of the outgoing year. The jury, consisting of UP journalists and experts, evaluated the rating participants based on their contribution to the victory and development of Ukrainian statehood, leadership, integrity, and influence on social and political processes. The UP 100 includes leaders representing public administration, business, culture, sports, society, and defenders of Ukraine.
Ruslan Shostak, President of TERWIN Corporation, founder and co-owner of EVA and VARUS networks, was included in the UP 100 list of the most influential Ukrainians according to the publication. His activities have become an example of a significant contribution to strengthening independence, supporting the economic front and building a strong future for the country.
“My main task as a businessman was and still is to prepare business and people for different scenarios so that there is no panic and chaos, and despite everything, so that business continues to function,” says Ruslan Shostak.
At the outbreak of the war, EVA and VARUS warehouses were filled with products, generators were purchased, and psychologists worked with employees to minimize human stress after the start of a full-scale invasion.
At the very beginning of the war, at the initiative of the first ladies of the two countries – Ukraine and Turkey – it was decided to take Ukrainian orphans to save them. Ruslan Shostak took care of all organizational issues and organized the evacuation and accommodation of orphans in Turkey at his own expense. Subsequently, the Foundation was established and joined by international partners who helped to support the children in Turkey for three years.
This evacuation was included in the World Book of Records and became the only example of private funding for the stay of Ukrainian children abroad.
The Ruslan Shostak Foundation also became an official partner of the army in providing wheeled vehicles through the unified national platform HeroCar. It has developed a system for the uninterrupted supply of pickup trucks from Europe to Ukraine. At a time when it seemed that there were no more used SUVs in the world, the necessary vehicles continued to be delivered to the frontline as part of the HeroCar project.
A year ago, the businessman merged his assets into TERWIN Corporation to scale the successful experience of existing projects. In 2023, the corporation paid UAH 3 billion in taxes, invested UAH 3 billion in development since 2021, and allocated UAH 570 million to support the army and charity since the beginning of the full-scale war.
Today, the corporation is working on the implementation of one of the largest investment projects in Ukraine – the large-scale construction of WINHUB logistics hubs on 1 million square meters in Odesa, Lviv, Dnipro, and Kyiv regions. The volume of investments is over $700 million. This is an innovative project with renewable energy sources, a full cycle of waste processing and disposal, integrated infrastructure, and jobs.
Ruslan Shostak’s contribution to the development of Ukraine has been recognized by numerous awards. He received the Order of Merit of the third class for strengthening interstate cooperation, supporting Ukraine’s state sovereignty and territorial integrity, making a significant contribution to the popularization of the Ukrainian state in the world, the Manager of the Year award for the best management decisions during the war, and the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine’s Commendation for his significant contribution and active assistance to the army.
“I am grateful to UP for such an extremely responsible role – to be in the UP 100 rating alongside incredible leaders who prove every day with their real actions that Ukraine will definitely survive this difficult struggle. For me, as a business representative, it is not status that matters, but real deeds. I am convinced that joint projects of business, government, and society are of particular importance in these extremely difficult times for the whole country. Being in the UP 100 ranking is a huge responsibility. After all, it is the participants of such a large-scale rating who must both demonstrate resilience and, in fact, create the future of an independent and strong Ukraine,” said Ruslan Shostak, President of TERWIN Corporation.
