Russian drones damaged energy infrastructure in Ternopil during a night attack. How is the restoration going?
26 November 12:54In Ternopil region, during a night attack, three flying objects were shot down, while other drones failed to shoot down and hit their targets. This was announced during a briefing by the head of the Ternopil Regional Air Defense Administration, Vyacheslav Nehoda, Komersant ukrainskyi reports.
According to him, enemy drones attacked an energy infrastructure facility that provided power to Ternopil.
“The teams that worked – the State Emergency Service, law enforcement officers, ambulance medics – worked effectively, quickly and efficiently. We localized the place of the fire that started as a result of the strike. The enemy tried to repeat it again, so we took the special services employees to a safe place, away from the strike,” said Vyacheslav Nehoda.
He also said that initially 70% of the territory covered by Ternopiloblenergo was cut off, but power engineers and other technical services did everything to connect to other systems that pass through the region before the start of the working day and most of the power supply was restored.
According to Ternopiloblenergo, all critical infrastructure has been powered. Power engineers continue to work to fully restore power to the city.
According to local authorities, water supply and sewerage are currently in operation in Ternopil, heat is supplied through regular power supply and backup generators, and buses are running on all routes instead of trolleybuses. Schools and kindergartens are also open.
According to the website of the city of Ternopil, by 13:00, the regional power company is to publish schedules of network power supply restrictions.
According to Andriy Oleshchuk, technical director of Ternopiloblenergo, they will affect the population of the northern part of Ternopil region, the city of Ternopil, in particular the neighborhoods of Center, Novyi Svit, BAM, and the surrounding villages.
