russian telegram channels are spreading information that a pawnshop in Ternopil has started accepting bionic prostheses from Ukrainian defenders. According to the propagandists, this “service is popular”. This is a fake, according to with reference to the Centre for Countering Disinformation.

“It’s a lie: one of the pawnshops in Ternopil in its advert for tablets and watches depicted an artificial hand and signed that bionic prostheses can be handed over here. This is what pro-Russian publics write about,”

– the statement said.

The agency noted that in fact, there is no branch of the Parus (Parus-Plus) pawnshop in Ternopil, and the photo spread by propaganda was taken two years ago and from another branch.

“The entire network has the same branding design and the same selection of things they accept: a phone, a drill, a watch, a ring, diamonds, a computer. There is no bionic hand there,”

– the report says.

Having verified the information with the Department of Information Policy and Public Relations of the Ternopil Regional State Administration, the Centre reports that there are no pawnshops of the company mentioned in the Russian posts in the city.

“In addition, there are no such announcements in the pawnshops available in the city,” the Disinformation Action Centre notes.
