On the night of 13 August, the Russian army launched a missile and air strike on the infrastructure of the city of Sumy. At least one person was injured and one district was cut off from electricity and gas. “Restoration work is underway after the morning enemy attack. There is one wounded, he was taken away by an ambulance. Temporarily, Veretenovka district is without gas and electricity until the work is completed. All services are working. It is currently impossible to leave Veretenivka directly to Kovpak Street. The detour is via Hannivka,” the statement said.
According to the Sumy Regional Military Administration, the army of the Russian aggressor country launched an air strike on the infrastructure of Sumy.
“On 13 August, the enemy launched a missile and air strike on the infrastructure of the city of Sumy. All necessary services are working on the spot. Emergency repair works are underway. The consequences of the enemy attack are being clarified,” the officials said.
Acting Mayor of Sumy Artem Kobzar also confirmed the attack on the city. According to him, the missile attack damaged a power line, a gas pipeline, a hospital building, and several cars.
“Part of the population of Sumy was left without electricity and gas supply. The consequences of the enemy attack are being eliminated,” he wrote.
At night and in the morning, the Russians fired 12 times at the border areas and settlements of Sumy region. 23 explosions were recorded. The Sumy, Khotyn, Yunakiv, Bilopil, Vorozhbiansk, Krasnopil and Berezivka communities were shelled.
Krasnopilsk community: the enemy fired mortars (6 explosions). There were also aerial strikes by the Ukrainian military (2 explosions).
Khotyn community: a UAV air strike was carried out (3 explosions).
Vorozhbianske community: a UAV airstrike (1 explosion).
Sumy community: a UAV airstrike was recorded (2 explosions).
Bilopilska community: Russians carried out airstrikes with UAVs (2 explosions).
Berezivska community: a rocket attack (1 explosion) and a UAV air strike (2 explosions) were carried out.
Yunakivska community: airstrikes by UAVs were recorded (5 explosions).
