Russia strikes at Ternopil, the city is without electricity

On the night of November 26, Russian troops attacked Ternopil. After the enemy attack, the city experienced problems with electricity and water supply. This was reported by the chief of staff of the Defense Council of Ternopil region Serhiy Nadal and the head of the Ternopil regional military administration Vyacheslav Nehoda, Komersant ukrainskyi reports

The explosions in the city occurred at 1 am. After that, the city and the settlements near the regional center lost power. Nehoda posted on Facebook that he was working to find out the extent of the damage and eliminate the consequences.

“I remind you: do not post photos or videos of the consequences of an enemy attack if you witnessed such a situation! Do not ignore the air raid alert! Take care of yourself and your loved ones!” the head of Ternopil region emphasized in his telegram channel.

At 01:47, repeated explosions began to be heard in the city. Nehoda reported that air defense forces were working. There are no details of the attack.

Ternopil’s power grid was damaged as a result of an enemy attack:

  • Elevators. Elevators will not work in apartment buildings until the power supply is fully restored. Residents of Ternopil are asked not to use them in buildings with electricity. There may be interruptions.
  • IHS. Individual heating stations will be turned off, and heat will be supplied directly to the houses.
  • Water supply. According to Ternopilvodokanal, centralized water supply should be restored to all consumers at approximately 7:00 am.
  • Gas supply to all consumers in the city is provided in the normal mode.
  • Medical facilities are operating as usual, and generators are available in case of need.

According to Nadal, power engineers are gradually restoring electricity to the city. The attack also caused the suspension of trolleybuses and a breakdown in the centralized water supply.

  • 45, Zluky Avenue – Municipal enterprise “Dovzhenko Ternopil Center for Leisure and Youth Initiatives”
  • 1 Pryvokzalna Square – Ternopil Railway Station
  • 11 Fedkovycha St. – Children’s and Youth Plast Center
