Russia strikes Kyiv with drones: a recreation center burns down

On the night of April 29, Russia conducted another drone strike on Ukrainian cities. The attack was carried out in the capital as well. A three-story building of a recreation center burned down in the Desnianskyi district as a result of falling debris. This was reported by Mayor Vitali Klitschko, Komersant ukrainskyi reports

The attack took place around 1 am. Kyiv residents wrote about the first drones at about 00:55, and half an hour later – about several more.

The KIAA warned that air defense could be operating in Kyiv.

“A call for medics in the Desnianskyi district. Preliminary information: a private house and cars are on fire. Emergency services are on their way,” Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said.

He later clarified that a woman was injured.

“According to medical reports, a woman was injured in the Desnianskyi district. She is being treated on the spot,” the mayor said.

Later, Klitschko clarified that a recreation center burned down.

“A three-story building of a recreation center burned down as a result of falling debris in the Desnianskyi district. So far, one woman has been injured, who was treated by medics on the spot,” Klitschko emphasized.

As a reminder, on the night of April 24, Russia launched a missile attack on Kyiv. One of the missiles hit a residential building in Sviatoshynskyi district. The State Emergency Service completed the debris removal only on April 25. The attack killed 13 people and injured 87 others.
