Russia strikes a high-rise building in Ternopil: one victim and wounded

On the night of December 2, Russia attacked Ternopil. As a result of the attack, a fire broke out in a residential building, killing one person. This was reported by the mayor of the city, Serhiy Nadal , and the head of the Ternopil Regional Military Administration, Vyacheslav Nehoda, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

“A UAV hit a residential building. Work is underway to extinguish the fire and evacuate the residents of the house and accommodate them. As of this moment, 1 person was killed, others were injured (preliminary data). The work continues,” Nehoda wrote.

The mayor of the city, Serhiy Nadal, clarified that the enemy drone hit the top floor of a high-rise building in one of the city’s neighborhoods.

“After the enemy UAV hit the apartment building, the fire engulfed the apartments on the top 5 floors and partially the third and fourth floors. At this moment, rescue and special services are still working. There are dead and seriously injured. Doctors are doing everything possible to save the wounded,” said the head of the OVA.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, about 100 residents of the building were evacuated during the rescue operations.

The blast wave also damaged the windows of neighboring buildings, a school and 20 cars.

Psychologists are working at the scene and a mobile resilience center has been set up for the victims.
