Around two in the afternoon on 3 September, Russia fired two ballistic missiles at the Institute of Communications in Poltava, reports Komersant ukrainskyi
“According to available information, the enemy used two ballistic missiles. The time interval between the alarm and the arrival of the deadly missiles was so short that it caught people at the moment of evacuation to the bomb shelter,”
– reported the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.
The strikes partially destroyed one of the buildings of the Institute of Communications, and many people were trapped under the rubble. Rescuers and medics rescued 25 people, 11 of whom were unblocked from the rubble.
President Zelensky said that the strikes killed 41 people and injured more than 180.
“According to the information available now, two ballistic missiles. They hit the territory of the educational institution and a neighbouring hospital. One of the buildings of the Institute of Communications was partially destroyed. People were trapped under the rubble. Many were rescued. More than 180 people were injured. Unfortunately, many have died. As of now, 41 people have been reported dead,”
