Russia asks Turkey for help in withdrawing troops from Syria
9 December 14:02Russia has asked Turkey for support for the safe withdrawal of Russian troops from Syria. This was reported by CNN Türk with reference to Komersant ukrainskyi.
Reportedly, Russia plans to withdraw its troops from the field, leaving them only at the bases in Tartus, Deir ez-Zour and the Hmeymim air base.
It is expected that Russian soldiers will be moved to areas controlled by the Turkish Armed Forces, from where they will be airlifted to Russia.
It is also noted that the influence of Iranian proxies in Syria has significantly decreased recently. In this context, Russia is looking for ways to safely withdraw some of its troops with the support of Turkey and has already made a request.
