On the night of March 8, 2025, Russian troops attacked the town of Bohodukhiv in Kharkiv region, striking a local meat processing plant using four Shahed drones. As a result of the attack, a large-scale fire broke out and three civilian men who were on the territory of the enterprise were killed. This was reported by the head of the Kharkiv regional military administration, Oleg Sinegubov, Komersant ukrainskyi.
The fire area was about 2 thousand square meters. Units of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine were working at the scene. It took several hours to extinguish the large-scale fire.

It is known that seven people were also injured in the attack and sustained injuries of varying severity.

Law enforcement agencies opened a criminal investigation into the attack under the article on crimes during the war. Investigative actions are ongoing to establish all the circumstances of the incident.
What is known about those killed in the drone strike on the plant’s territory
Three men were killed in a drone attack on a meat processing plant in Bohodukhiv. According to preliminary information, they are employees of the company aged 39, 41 and 54. Their identities are being established through forensic examination, as their bodies were badly burned.
Ukrainians reacted sharply to the Russian occupiers’ attacks on one of the leading enterprises in the region. Users left the following comments on social media:
- “This is Kharkiv region. It used to be the best plant that fed the entire region.”
- “Bohodukhiv products are well known in Kyiv and Sumy regions.”
- “The best plant in the country. First of all, I sympathize with the owner, because he suffered great economic losses.”
- “I went to the store where I always bought, and the windows were empty.”

Bohodukhiv Meat Processing Plant is a leading Ukrainian meat processing enterprise located in the city of Bohodukhiv, Kharkiv region. Founded in 1930, the plant has a long history of producing sausages and deli meats.
In Soviet times, the company was part of the Kharkiv Meat Industry Production Association, being one of the largest in the region. After Ukraine declared its independence, the plant became the municipal property of the Kharkiv region. In 1995, it was privatized and reorganized into a joint-stock company.
In 2006, Bogodukhiv Meat Processing Plant became part of SMK Group. After that, the company modernized its processing equipment and in 2008 opened the largest raw smoked and raw dried sausage production facility in Ukraine. In 2010, a shop for the production of cooked smoked and raw smoked delicacies was launched, and in 2012, a sausage shop was opened. In 2018, the company completed the reconstruction of its production facilities.
Bogodukhiv Meat Processing Plant produces a wide range of meat products under the Bogodukhiv Meat Processing Plant and Taste Ukrainian brands. The products include:

- boiled smoked, semi-smoked and hard-smoked sausages;
- raw smoked and raw dried sausages

Bogodukhiv Meat Processing Plant’s products are widely represented in Ukrainian retail chains such as FOZZY and Varus, which proves their popularity among consumers.
As of 2022, the company’s authorized capital amounted to UAH 574 thousand 714.
