Russia attacks Odesa suburbs: there are victims

The Russian occupation forces conducted a massive drone strike on the outskirts of Odesa the night before. Footage has emerged of the aftermath of the enemy attack, which resulted in severe fires at civilian infrastructure facilities. This is reported by Komersant ukrainskyi with reference to the Odesa City Council.

“The enemy attacked the suburbs of Odesa. Civilian infrastructure, commercial facilities, and cars are on fire,” the city council quoted Odesa Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov as saying.

It is also noted that there are victims of Russian strikes who are being provided with medical assistance.

The mayor of Odesa posted a video of the aftermath of the drone attack online.

The footage shows burning and completely smashed buildings, civilian objects that have turned into ruins and are still burning, as well as firefighters with special equipment and rescuers.

Three people were injured in the drone strikes, civilian infrastructure was damaged and fires broke out in the city, said Oleh Kiper, head of the Odesa regional military administration.

According to the official, a minor girl is among the victims.

He added that due to the Russian drone attack, “powerful fires broke out in three locations.”

“There are also local emergency power outages in Prymorskyi, Peresypskyi and Kyivskyi districts of Odesa,” the official said.

Local social media reports that a shopping center was on fire.

According to Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council, the Russian invaders have changed the tactics of drone strikes on Ukrainian cities while attacking Odesa. In particular, the enemy is trying to act “in large numbers to try to overwhelm air defense, mobile groups, and electronic warfare.”
