On the night of 9 April, Russia attacked two energy facilities in Lviv and Poltava regions, Komersant ukrainskyi citing the press service of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine.
“At night, the enemy attacked a high-voltage substation in Poltava region – a fire broke out on the territory, which was extinguished by the State Emergency Service, no one was injured. There is damage to the equipment. A high-voltage substation in the Lviv region was also attacked, and equipment caught fire. No one was injured. The consequences of the night attacks are being examined and clarified,”
– the ministry said in a statement.
Two high-voltage overhead lines were disconnected and an industrial facility lost power due to the fighting in Dnipropetrovs’k region. In Lviv region, the railway was cut off, but there were no disruptions to train traffic. In Mykolaiv region, a high-voltage substation was shut down due to equipment damage, and household consumers lost power.
All consumers have been reconnected, according to the Ministry of Energy.
Yesterday afternoon, the power system even had a surplus and had to sell electricity abroad. But in the evening, during peak hours, it was necessary to receive emergency electricity supplies from Poland, Romania and Slovakia.
Blackout schedules are currently being applied in Kharkiv region.
