Russia attacks Sumy with drones: industrial facilities damaged, fires started

This morning of May 21, Sumy came under attack from Russian UAVs. Businesses were damaged and fires broke out, and part of the city was without electricity. This is reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to the acting mayor of Sumy, Artem Kobzar, and the Sumy Regional Military Administration.

“This morning, Sumy is under attack by Russian UAVs. Industrial facilities were hit, and power lines were damaged. The strikes caused fires,” said Oleh Hryhorov, head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration.

One casualty has been reported.

Part of the regional center is without electricity. Emergency repair works are ongoing.

All necessary services are working on the spot.

“The enemy attacked two enterprises on the territory of the city with Shahed-type attack UAVs. Five hits were recorded at one of the facilities and two at the other. All the necessary services are working on the ground,” acting Mayor Artem Kobzar added in a post on social media.
