Today, on 26 August, 15 regions in Ukraine have been affected by a massive Russian attack using various weapons. There are injured and dead. This was reported by Komersant ukrainskyi
with reference to the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal.
“The enemy used various types of weapons: UAVs, cruise missiles, “Daggers”. There are wounded and dead. My sincere condolences to the families and friends,” Shmyhal wrote.
He noted that the energy infrastructure was again targeted by Russian terrorists.
“Unfortunately, there are damages in a number of regions. “Ukrenergo is forced to use emergency power outages to stabilise the system. The heads of the regional administrations have been tasked to deploy the Unbreakable Points, if necessary,” the Prime Minister added.
As a reminder, on the morning of 26 August, Russia attacked Ukrainian regions. Explosions were heard in Kyiv, Lutsk, Kryvyi Rih, Sumy, Vinnytsia, Dnipro, Kharkiv, Zhytomyr, Rivne and Lviv. Power outages have been reported across Ukraine. Ukrenergo introduces emergency power cuts. At least three people have been reported dead – in Lutsk, Dnipro and Zaporizhzhia.
Zaporizhzhia region
“Russians killed a civilian in Zaporizhzhya district. The enemy struck near a private house. A man was killed,” said Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration.
He also noted that an energy infrastructure facility was hit in Zaporizhzhia region.
“A fire broke out there. Information on the consequences is being clarified,” Fedorov said.
Poltava region
In Poltava region, Russians hit an industrial facility.
“Five people were injured,” said Philip Pronin, head of the Poltava Regional Military Administration.
Volyn region
“A shakhed was shot down near Lutsk. The wreckage fell on the territory of the regional centre. As a result, an apartment building was damaged. As of now, the information about the victims is being clarified,” said Mayor Ihor Polishchuk.
He later clarified that one person was killed and five injured in several Russian attacks in Lutsk.
The State Emergency Service reported that it had already eliminated the consequences of another Russian attack and published a photo.
“Around 8:30 a.m., a shell hit an apartment building on one of the city’s avenues. As a result, the building and property of citizens were damaged. Rescuers quickly eliminated the consequences of the fire and structural damage in the apartment,” the statement said.
Rescuers helped the residents evacuate to a safe place.
Zhytomyr region
Residential buildings and critical infrastructure facilities in Zhytomyr region were damaged in a massive missile attack.
“Unfortunately, according to preliminary data, a woman was killed as a result of the Russian regime’s terrorist actions,” said Vitaliy Bunechko, head of the Regional Military Administration.
He noted that due to the difficult situation in the power system, emergency power cuts were introduced.
“Rescuers and repair teams are working. For information on the progress of repair work and elimination of the consequences of Russian missile strikes, please follow the official channels of the Zhytomyr Regional Military Administration,” added Bunechko.
Kyiv region
In Kyiv region, one person was injured and infrastructure facilities were damaged.
“We already have information about the wounded person. He was taken to one of the district medical institutions and is receiving the necessary assistance. We are also recording damage to private houses as a result of the fall of debris from downed enemy targets in 4 districts. More details to follow,” said Ruslan Kravchenko, head of the Kyiv regional military administration.
Emergency power cuts were introduced in Kyiv region by order of Ukrenergo. The head of the Kyiv Regional Military Command instructed districts and communities to promptly launch the operation of the “Resilience Points” so that people could recharge their phones.
Dnipropetrovska oblast
“In the morning, the aggressor massively attacked the region. Explosions were heard in Dniprovskyi and Kryvyi Rih districts. Preliminary, there is one dead, a 69-year-old man. There were several fires. In particular, there was a fire in a country house,” said the head of the Dnipro Regional State Administration, Serhiy Lysak.
According to preliminary data, a dozen houses were damaged.
“Two of them are destroyed. An outbuilding is damaged. Rescuers have extinguished the fire,” Lysak added.
Mykolaiv region
“There are 3 wounded as a result of a massive rocket attack. Everything is under control. Charge your devices just in case,” said Vitaliy Kim, head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration.
As of now, there are about 400 invincibility points in Mykolaiv region, the addresses of which can be found in the Diia app.
Rivne region
This morning, Rivne region was attacked by the enemy. The target was an energy infrastructure facility.
“Windows in a residential building were damaged. There were no human casualties. Settlements in Rivne district are without power,” wrote the head of Rivne Regional State Administration Oleksandr Koval.
The relevant services are currently working to eliminate the consequences of the strike.
In addition, air defence forces shot down air targets in the Rivne region. Preliminarily, there were no casualties.
Odesa region
In the morning, Russia attacked the region’s energy and civilian infrastructure.
“Four people were injured in the attack, including a 10-year-old boy. Three of the victims, including the child, are hospitalised in moderate condition. They are being provided with all the necessary assistance,” said Oleh Kiper, head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration.
Private houses and a large number of vehicles were damaged as a result of the falling rocket fragments.
There are also power outages in Odesa district. All relevant services are eliminating the consequences of the Russian attack.
