Bihus.Info journalists have discovered that several MPs’ relatives have acquired elite real estate during the full-scale war. Traditionally, estates worth tens of millions of hryvnias are registered in the names of mothers, fathers or mothers-in-law. This is stated in an investigation by Bihus.Info, according to Komersant ukrainskyi
In July 2022, the wife of European Solidarity MP Artur Gerasymov registered an estate and about 30 acres of land in the middle of an island in the village of Pluty, near Kyiv, in her name. Previously, it was registered to Gerasimov’s mother-in-law, Tatiana Matveeva.
Journalists note that it is forbidden to build housing in this place. The prosecutor’s office planned to sue over the transfer of the land to private ownership for construction.
Gerasimov’s declaration states that the land and house cost less than UAH 3 million. However, a similar plot in Plyuty costs 12-14 thousand dollars, and houses of similar size were sold for 500 thousand dollars, Bihus.Info found out.
The family of MP Ihor Palytsia owns land and real estate near the Gerasymovs. Palytsia’s father and ex-wife registered the land here a little earlier, in 2020-2021. Currently, Oksana Palytsia owns and leases more than a hectare of land here, while Petro Palytsia owns 30 hectares. Since the end of 2023, the MP’s son Zakhar Palytsia has owned not only land but also a large estate with a tennis court and a private beach.
According to journalists, the estimated value of Palytsia’s land in Plyuty can reach UAH 75 million. However, in his declaration, Palytsia himself lists renting only two offices and his own apartment in Lutsk.
In one of the most expensive places, Kozyn, also near Kyiv, the 82-year-old mother of Eurosolidarity MP Serhiy Alekseev bought a 1,000-square-metre estate and 75 acres of land. Judging by the declaration, Alekseev himself uses them.
It is said that similar houses here are sold for between $1-1.5 million, but it allegedly cost Alekseev’s mother less – 35 million hryvnias. It’s funny that part of this house, namely the summer kitchen, was previously rented by MP Alekseev. The landlord was his partner in the law firm Alekseev, Boyarchukov and Partners, Sergiy Boyarchukov. He was probably the owner of the estate before it was sold to Alekseev’s mother.
In the summer of 2022, the family of Servant of the People MP Pavlo Pavlish also moved into a new house. It is located in the Nova Khodosivka cottage community. At the time, similar houses here cost UAH 8 million each.
Last year, Pavlish tried to get a seat as a judge of the Constitutional Court and was interviewed for the position. Members of the commission asked him about the house in Khodosivka, and the MP said that he could not name the price because his father had bought the land and then allegedly built a house there himself.
According to Pavlish’s story, the land was purchased in early 2022, and in less than six months, the 200-metre-long cottage was already built. However, the journalists found out that in Nova Khodosivka, the plot can only be purchased together with the cottage.
