Russian Federation hits a ship carrying wheat with a missile: 4 sailors are killed

On the evening of March 11, Russia launched a ballistic missile attack on the port of Odesa. As a result, the civilian ship MJ PINA, flying the flag of Barbados, was damaged. At the time of the attack, it was loading wheat for export to Algeria. This was announced by the Minister of Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine Oleksiy Kuleba, Komersant ukrainskyi reports

According to him, the strike killed four people – citizens of Syria. The youngest victim was 18, the oldest was 24 years old. Two more people were injured – a Ukrainian and a Syrian. They are being provided with the necessary assistance.

At the time of the attack, the vessel was loading wheat for export to Algeria.

Another ship, berths, and grain storage facilities were also damaged.

“Russia is attacking Ukraine’s infrastructure, including ports that are involved in ensuring the world’s food security. It is important that port infrastructure is protected from terror and that free and safe navigation is guaranteed. We must continue to strengthen our air defense, use the power of weapons and the power of diplomacy to achieve lasting peace and security,” Kuleba emphasized.

According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, on March 11, at about 20:17, the Russian armed forces attacked the port infrastructure of Odesa, first with an Iskander-M ballistic missile.
