The Ministry of Defence is planning to transform the Reserve app into a full-fledged online command and control centre, adding functionality that can be used remotely. Deputy Defence Minister Kateryna Chernogorenko said this in an interview with Forbes Ukraine, Komersant ukrainskyi reports
“It took time to prove the legal importance and necessity of Reserve, as well as to change the perception of the CCP. 3.2 million people were able to update their data through Rezerv. “Now we have a big plan to turn Rezerv into an online CCP,” Chernogorenko said.
In particular, they want to add several new functions to Reserv to replace the ones currently performed by military enlistment offices.
“We are adding an online recruitment option with the ability to sign a contract or mobilise in two clicks. In addition, we are working on three types of deferments: for large families, people with disabilities and full-time students,” she explained.
Chernogorenko emphasised:
“This is an ambitious task, but I am confident that we will succeed. We also plan to add the possibility of including a photo in the electronic military record.”
The Deputy Minister of Defence added that the online referral to the MLC will be launched in autumn.
“There are a few more services of the MCC that the Ministry of Defence plans to transfer to the Reserve. However, I can only promise deferments and online recruitment. We will offer online recruitment in cooperation with other platforms. Two months ago, we announced that we were working on an online referral to the military registration and enlistment commission. This feature allows Reserve users to generate referrals online. It will be launched in autumn,” Chernogorenko said.
It should be noted that 16 July was the last day for updating military registration data. All men and women liable for military service aged 18 to 60 had to do so. Kommersant Ukrayinsky looked into what to do for those who failed to do so for some reason and what fines violators could face.
Starting from 00:00 on 17 July, border guards will check the availability of a military registration document for all Ukrainian men aged 18 to 60 when leaving Ukraine.
