“Strikes are not delivered with words… The missiles will speak for themselves. They will,” President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy concluded his Sunday evening address with these words, Komersant ukrainskyi reports.

The head of the Ukrainian state did not officially confirm that permission to launch long-range missiles had been received, but he reminded that long-range capability is one of the main points of the Victory Plan for our army.

“The plan to strengthen Ukraine is the Victory Plan that I presented to our partners. One of the main points is the long-range capability of our army. Today, many in the media are saying that we have received permission to take appropriate actions. But strikes are not delivered with words. Such things are not announced. The missiles will speak for themselves. They will,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

The New York Times was the first to report that US President Biden had authorized Ukraine to launch long-range ATACMS missiles against Russia.

According to the newspaper’s interlocutors from the US presidential administration, this was a response to Russia’s deployment of North Korean troops in the Kursk region. And these weapons are likely to be used initially against Russian and North Korean troops to protect Ukrainian forces in the Kursk region in western Russia, officials said.

The Americans were allegedly joined by Europeans. Le Figaro reported that the United Kingdom and France have followed the United States in allowing Ukraine to launch long-range Storm Shadow/SCALP missiles into Russia.

For its part, Reuters, citing sources, reported the day before that Ukraine could strike Russia with long-range ATACMS missiles in the coming days.

Donald Trump’s team did not ignore this event. Donald Trump Jr. simply called the leaders of the countries who, according to media reports, allowed Ukraine to launch long-range weapons at Russian territory “imbeciles”

Biden’s decision was indirectly commented on by Elon Musk, who reposted a tweet saying that “liberals love war.”

The Russian Foreign Ministry was reticent to comment on media reports that Ukraine had authorized long-range Western weapons to strike Russian territory. The ministry said that “Putin has already spoken on this topic.” As you know, back in September, he said that allowing long-range missiles to strike Russian territory would mean “direct participation” NATO in the war.

Russian propagandists, meanwhile, simply drew a map on which they predicted what the zone of damage to Russian territory by Western long-range missiles might look like. According to their version, this zone includes more than twenty major Russian cities, including Moscow.
