Missile attack on Ukraine: energy sector hits and power outages

This morning, Russia launched another missile attack on Ukraine, Komersant ukrainskyi reports.

Starting at 6 a.m. Kyiv time, the Russians attacked Ukrainian civilian targets with X-22, X-101/555 and Kalibr missiles. The entire territory of Ukraine, including the western regions, was under attack.

As of 08:30 a.m., the attack is over, and there are no alarms in most regions.

There are no reports of any hits in populated areas.

Ukrenergo has introduced blackouts in Kharkiv, Sumy, Poltava, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro and Kirovohrad regions. However, there is no information on the schedules of the outages.

“The enemy does not stop terrorizing Ukrainians. In connection with the massive attack, the transmission system operator is applying preventive restriction measures,”

– said Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko.

Russian Telegram channels reported that the gas hub and storage facility in Stryi were hit.

Ukrainian officials have not yet commented on this information, but it is likely that the country’s energy infrastructure was targeted in today’s attack.
