The proposal for another extension of martial law, as always, was in the presidential decree. This is the 14th vote for martial law.
“This will be the 14th time the Rada votes for martial law and mobilization. From February 8 to May 9 this year,” commented Zheleznyak.
In addition to the term of martial law, the term of mobilization was extended. 310 MPs voted for this.
Now, the changes need only the signature of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to come into force.
During the presentation of the draft law on the extension of mobilization, the president’s representative in the Verkhovna Rada, Fedir Venislavsky, said that “demobilization is not provided for until the liberation of the territories of Ukraine.”
“There can be no demobilization during martial law a priori,” he said.
