Nikolai Patrushev, a member of the Russian Security Council, believes that Ukraine will cease to exist this year. He said this in an interview with the Russian propaganda media outlet KP. RU.
“Speaking about Ukraine’s prospects, I do not rule out that in 2025 it will cease to exist altogether,” the Russian official said.
Patrushev also believes that negotiations on Ukraine should be conducted between Russia and the United States without the participation of other European countries
“Moscow has nothing to talk about with either London or Brussels,” the Russian Security Council member said.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a phone conversation with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron. The two heads of state discussed in detail the situation on the battlefield and the successes of Ukrainian forces in the Kursk operation.
The politicians also agreed to work closely with key allies to achieve peace and develop effective security guarantees. As one of these guarantees, Zelenskyy and Macron discussed the French initiative to deploy military contingents in Ukraine. They considered practical steps for its implementation, possible expansion and involvement of other countries in this process.
In addition, Volodymyr Zelenskyy recently discussed with a U.S. representative the possibility of granting Ukraine licenses to produce air defense systems and missiles for them.
“There is nothing impossible in this, and it will only strengthen our joint ability to guarantee security. This is exactly the kind of power that makes lasting peace possible,” the Ukrainian president said after the conversation.
