Termination of payments to people with disabilities: the Ministry of Social Policy explains the situation

21 January 21:58

The Ministry of Social Policy has denied the fake about the alleged termination of payments to people with disabilities of groups 2 and 3. This is reported by Komersant ukrainskyi with reference to information from the relevant ministry.

“Today, a number of media outlets and telegram channels have disseminated information about the alleged possible cancellation of payments to people with disability groups 2 or 3. Please note that this information is untrue and incorrect. All payments to people with disabilities are maintained and will continue to be paid,” the statement said.

What preceded it

on January 21, Ukrainski Novyny published a comment by MP Mykhailo Tsymbalyuk that the Cabinet of Ministers could cancel payments to people with disability groups 2 and 3 and introduce a larger payment for group 1 instead.

“I understand that a person with a disability in the second group receives about 2 thousand hryvnias. It is impossible to survive on this amount. When they say that a person with a disability of the first group will receive 20,000, okay, but the second and third groups will receive nothing, this is unacceptable. At least leave this minimum, because there is really no place to get the money. Create the conditions for a person to find a job,” said Tsymbalyuk.

In his opinion, the government should be prepared to increase the number of veterans and people with disabilities, who should not only be provided with social assistance, but also create conditions for employment.

A little later, this information was denied by Oleksiy Honcharenko, a member of the EU party.

“Regarding the news about the alleged abolition of payments to people with disabilities of groups 2-3. There is no such bill in the Rada. The Cabinet of Ministers has not adopted such a resolution. It is unacceptable to cancel all payments, I hope the Cabinet will see this reaction and will not even consider such an initiative,” the MP wrote on his Telegram channel.
