Weather forecast for May 27: rains, wind and yellow alert level

Today, May 27, most regions of Ukraine will experience cloudy weather with rains. The most intense precipitation is expected in the western and central regions. A yellow level of danger has also been declared due to heavy rains and gusty winds. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to the Ukrainian Weather Center.
on May 27, cloudy weather will prevail in Ukraine. Moderate rains are expected throughout the country, with the exception of the eastern and northeastern regions, where no precipitation is expected. Significant rains are forecast in Zhytomyr, Vinnytsia, Khmelnytsky, Chernivtsi regions, as well as in some places at night in Kyiv region.
The wind will be mainly southeast, in the western regions – north, at a speed of 7-12 m/s. On the Left Bank of the country, wind gusts of up to 15-20 m/s are expected, which can create dangerous conditions.
Air temperature will vary depending on the region:
- In the western, Zhytomyr and Vinnytsia regions: 6-11°C at night, 14-19°C during the day.
- In the rest of the country: 13-18°C at night, 18-23°C during the day.
- In the eastern regions and Sumy region: 24-29°C during the day.
Warnings about dangerous meteorological phenomena
The Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center has issued a warning of hazardous meteorological phenomena of the first level of danger (yellow level) for May 27. Significant rains are expected in Zhytomyr, Vinnytsia, Khmelnytsky, and Chernivtsi regions, which could lead to localized flooding. On the Left Bank of the country, wind gusts of 15-20 m/s pose a risk to infrastructure and security.
“Weather conditions can lead to complications in the work of energy, construction, utility companies and traffic,” the weather center said.
Residents of these regions are advised to be cautious, avoid open spaces during strong winds, and follow forecast updates.
Weather forecast for Kyiv and Kyiv region
On May 27, cloudy weather with moderate rains is also expected in Kyiv region and the city of Kyiv. At night, in some areas of the region, the rains may be significant. The wind will be southeast, at a speed of 7-12 m/s.
Air temperature:
- In Kyiv region: 13-18°C at night, 18-23°C during the day.
- In Kyiv: 14-16°C at night, 20-22°C during the day.
Residents of the capital and the region are advised to prepare for rainy weather, carry umbrellas and avoid traveling in case of heavy precipitation.
