The President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), Pia Kauma, participated in a meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, accompanied by the former translator of the Russian president, Daria Boyarskaya.

This was reported by Yle with reference to Hufvudstadsbladet, whose journalists saw the list of participants in the event, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.

At the meeting, Kauma, who is also a member of the Finnish National Coalition Party, was introduced as the chair of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly.

Meanwhile, Boyarska was introduced as an advisor. Previously, she worked in the Russian Foreign Ministry and was even an interpreter for Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.

The meeting of the Interparliamentary Union took place in Uzbekistan. Along with Kauma, there were five other people from the OSCE staff, but Boyarska was the only advisor.

At the same meeting, the OSCE PA President shook hands with the representative of the Russian delegation, Konstantin Kosachev, breaking the longstanding isolation of Russian representatives in the OSCE.

Later, Kauma explained the situation with Boyarska. According to her, she was appointed as an assistant by the OSCE General Assembly Secretariat “in accordance with the usual practice.” At the same time, she said, she did not participate in the discussions and “did not play any political role.”
